White wins by bringing his bishop to c4 when Black's king is on a dark square, which does the zugzwang thing. For example, 83...Ka5 84.Bg4 Kb5 85.Be2+ Kc5/a5 86.Bc4.

Even easier would be 83...Kc5 84.Bd7, and Black's only chance is to have a long think, pick up his king, hold it over several squares without releasing it, then finally plop it back onto c5 and press the clock. After all, Reshevsky was almost 60 years old and might not notice.

Jun-19-23  ColdSong: This ending is really worth a look.Kudos to 60 years old Reshevsky to beat this way a very dangerous opponent.
