Apr-06-08  aazqua: What the heck was Tinman thinking at the end? Gives up a pawn, fractures his structure, trades down material and lets Kasprov set up a couple of passers? Huh? The only thing I can think of is that B+R is a theoretical loss when one side has the 2 to 1 advantage on the wing but that seems like a real stretch.
May-31-21  Toribio3: Occupation of the C file. Move #13 Rc8 by Kasparov was the key move. When Kasparov seized the C file, the game was already won by Kaspy. In most Gruenfeld Defense games, whoever control the C file, whether white or black determines the game.

beatgiant: I don't see that Black has much until White blundered with 35. e5.

If White tries 35. Rd2 (to prepare Rc2), Black probably keeps a nice advantage with <35...g5> 36. hxg5 hxg5, freezing White's kingside.

To avoid that, maybe <35. g5> hxg5 36. hxg5 f5 37. exf5 Bxf5. The resulting position looks drawish.
