Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-04-15  typhoonsub: After Nf2, the returning move 26...Qa6 was the best, tempting White to defend directly the c4, and allowing Black to prepare some pretty traps: (1) 27.Bd1 Bf5+ 28.Bc2 Nb3 29.Qd1 (29 axb3?? axb with forced mate) 29...Nxc1 30.Bxf5 Nxe2 31.Qxe2 gxf5 (2) 27.Bd3 Nb3 winning the exchange. (obviously 28.axb3 axb3 and White is gone) (3) Now 27.Nd3 is a mistake :27...Nb3! 28. axb3 axb3 29.Bxb3 e4! 30. fxe4 Qa1+ 31. Kc2 Qxb2+ 32. Kd1 Qxb3+ with decisive advantage for Black. (4) 27. f4 Nb3! (again!) 28. axb3 axb3 29.Bxb3 Bf5+ 30.Nd3 Nxf4 31.Nxf4 exf4 (5) 27.Qc3 b5! 28.cxb5 Qxb5 black has a strong position.

Perhaps the lesser evil for white is to give up his dark squared bishop for de c5 Knight, conceding the initiative to Black.

Just some examples of how strongs was 26...Qa6
