Kibitzer's Corner
May-27-05  sneaky pete: Uncle pete's believe it or not: Steen Petersen=St Petersburg.
May-28-05  Calli: What? Petrograd, Leningrad, St Petersburg and in 1879, Steen Petersen? Can't they make up their mind? :-)
May-28-05  Kangaroo: In the old chess books there was an acronym SP (or SPb) for St Petersburg.

In addition, if someone believes that the same guy had been playing chess since 1879 to 2000, welcome to the magic world = time machine etc.

Jun-17-05  sneaky pete: Where did Steen Petersen go?
Dec-24-09  Nullifidian: For underpromotion fans, there's an interesting (and equally successful) line if the Moscow team were to sac their rook by playing 37...♘f4.

Play continues:

38. ♖xe5 ♘h3 (Δ ♕g1#) 39. ♕e3 ♕g2+ 40. ♔e1 ♙f2+ 41. ♔d2 (♔e2?? ♙f1=♕#) ♙f1=♘+! 42. ♔c1 ♘xe3 and now, despite the number of pieces still on the board, nothing can stop Black's outside passed pawn.
