Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-12-03  PVS: Would you believe the Assistant East Coast Under Promotion Man?
Feb-11-04  iron maiden: So NN-Goetz, 1880 wasn't the only game in history when promotion to a knight delivered mate.
Sep-02-04  Knight13: I love h8=N#! Good game.
Sep-02-04  Knezh: Please stop doing that, jr.
Mar-19-05  Seraph88: 40.Rg7 would've also been mate..but the promotion to knight is really cool.
Mar-19-05  Mate Hunter: Why didn't black play 36...gxh4+?
Mar-19-05  Seraph88: i don't know y..can someone get a rating of these players?
Feb-07-06  Timothy Glenn Forney: It is interesting that both mates by underpromotion to a Knight are in the Kings Gambit one by white one by black.see-H Reinle vs Lange, 1936
Dec-04-08  WhiteRook48: Hilarious. I would've loved to see the look on John McManus's face after h8=N#.
Dec-23-08  WhiteRook48: h8Q would eventually have won...but why wait a lot? You can checkmate right away with h8N
Jan-06-09  WhiteRook48: why didn't black play 39...gxh4?
Jan-31-09  WhiteRook48: well, Black had winning threats of his own, so that's probably why he got mated right away
Feb-12-09  WhiteRook48: never mind, 40. Kxf3
Jun-07-09  chillowack: These players look like about "E" class to me. They're trading blunders, hanging pieces left and right, overlooking winning piece captures,.

I sincerely hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but these two players are complete and utter patzers.

FSR: I agree with chillowack about the standard of play. The only thing that the game has going for it is the extremely rare underpromotion to knight with mate.

Penguincw: Best "knight goes to h8 mate" since Morphy vs Le Carpentier, 1849.
Sep-19-14  Ke2: So why shouldn't you take a free rook with check??
Apr-28-20  bkpov: Flawed.
36. ..gxh4+ 37.Kxh4 Rxd4+ 38.cxd4 Rf6. And black is winning.
