Sneaky: Wow, Lalic makes the Staunton gambit seem like a lot of fun.
Aug-15-02  bishop: Black was far already far behind in development when he decided to go pawn hunting with his queen, the result is not surprising.

Penguincw: Black accepted too many gambits. This brought their queen further away from the action and fell even further behind in development.
Apr-05-25  mel gibson: I saw the first ply in a few seconds.

Stockfish 17 declines the Bishop:

13. Bxe7

(13. Bxe7 (1.Bxe7 Nxe5 2.Bxf8 Bf5 3.dxe5 Rxf8 4.g4 0-0-0 5.gxf5 Rfe8 6.e6 gxf5 7.Bxf5 Re7 8.Qxa7 Kc7 9.Kh1 Rf8 10.Rab1 Kd6 11.Qg1 b5 12.Qg4 h5 13.Qf4+ Kc5 14.a4 Qd4 ) +5.30/44 526)

score for white +5.30 depth 44.

If I force SF to accept the Bishop:

13. Bxe7 Kxe7

14. Nf7 (14. Nf7 (1.Nf7 Ke8 2.Rae1+ Ne5 3.Nxe5 Kd8 4.Qf7 Rh8 5.Qf6+ Kc7 6.Qxh8 Bf5 7.Kh1 Qb4 8.Bxf5 gxf5 9.Qxh7+ Qe7 10.Qxf5 Rc8 11.Ng6 Qh7 12.Nxf8 Qxf5 13.Rxf5 Kb6 14.h4 c5 ) +9.35/44 211)

score for White +9.35 depth 44.

Apr-05-25  Walter Glattke: I thought for 13.Bxe7 Nxe5 14.dxe5 Bf5, but Bxe7 is the winner

Honza Cervenka: Very naive play from black's part.

Apr-05-25  King.Arthur.Brazil: The king first try is: 13. Bxe7 (...Bxe7 14. Qf7+ Kd8 15. Qxg8+ Kc7 16. Nxd7 Kxd7 17. Rae1 or Qg7 and B is in big trouble). Nxe5 14. dxe5 (... Qxe5 15. Qf7+ Kd7 16. Bf6+ ...) Be6 15. Bxf8 O-O-O 16. Bd6 with an extra ♗ and attack. The alternative 13. Nxd7 didn't me cause good impression, so I sustain the first idea.
Apr-05-25  whiteshark: 14.<Nf7!!!>
