Aug-10-11  Llawdogg: Wow! 28 ... Qxf6! is a spectacular finish! What an amazing game! What an amazing move! There is simply no response. Game over. Mate in one or heavy material losses.
May-18-12  Llawdogg: This could make a good puzzle.
Apr-09-18  clement41: Whenever one sees this 25...Bxa2 kind of pawn grab, an idea that should popup to one’s mind is b3/Kb2 trapping the bishop. But here it’d prove too dangerous on account of 26 b3 a5 27 Kb2 a4 28 Kxa2?? ab+ 29 Kxb3 Qa3#
Apr-09-18  gofer: <clement41>: There is something slightly more dangerous than the sequence you give after <26 b3 ...>.

It begins with

<26 ... Qa3#>

Apr-10-18  Howard: Wonder if this game was included in Kavalek's excellent article in CL&R. Remind me to check it tonight when I get home.
Apr-11-18  Howard: Yes, Kavalek did comment briefly on this game in CL&R back in late 1975.

More specifically, he remarked that after 21.Nd5, White probably felt rather confident since Black's queen was a bit restricted as far as where to move to...but White had apparently overlooked 21...Be7!!

Informant, incidentally, awarded
16...Qc7 as the 5-6-7th (three-way tie) best novelty for Volume 20.
