Black looks slightly better, and with white having to make 10 moves in seconds, white's position was likely to worsen.

I was wondering what black's strategic plan could be. I thought the capture of the b4-pawn freed the c5 square for black's knight, and if white plays d4, the e3-pawn looks weak.

I checked with the engine and the position is very flexible. What black does depends on what white does, but there seems to be nothing good enough for white. Simply put, the position is unpleasant to play for white.

Lombardy had a lackluster tournament, winning no game and losing three, though he drew Larsen, who won the tournament spectacularly. Paraguayan Zenon Franco, 24 at the time, lived in Argentina back then (he would later move to Spain), where he won many open tournaments. He didn't make GM until 1991.
