  tpstar: <BadTemper> Black has no defense to 27. Rd6+ Kf5 28. Ng3#. If 26 ... Rd7 27. Nc5+ wins the Rook.
Nov-22-04  BadTemper: 26 Rg5 seems better to me, wins pawns etc
Nov-22-04  slapwa: It seems black missed white's 17th. If the planned 17. ..., B:c6, 18. Nf6+ is deadly.
Nov-23-04  BadTemper: How did you find my post?

p.s. Thank you!

Nov-23-04  BadTemper: p.s. tpstar 26... Kf5 solves everything, no mate threat. Whats the deal..
Nov-23-04  Shams: how do you figure, bad temper? tpstar is right...26...Kf5 27. Rd6 and it`s lights out

  tpstar: Yes, Black sneaks out of it with 26 ... Kf5 27. Rd6 Be6 because 28. Ng3+? Kxf6 or 28. Kd2 (intending 29. Ke3) h5 29. Rh4 Kg6 works. So maybe 26 ... Kf5 27. Rf1+ Ke6 28. Ng5+ Kd6 (28 ... Kd7 29. Rd1+ Ke8 30. Re4) 29. Rd1+ Kc5 30. Re4 winning the Pe5 or the Ph7 and White will be 2 Pawns up but it will take a while to win. Perhaps Black didn't care to test Miles' technique.
