Sneaky: This is an excellent stem game for the semi-slav player to study.

Of course, Black's plan doesn't always work, e.g. Tkachiev vs Bacrot, 2001

Sneaky: Miles avoided taking the Black queen with 20. Bxf6 Bxf6 21. Be4 Qxe4 22. Rxe4 Bxe4, where the advanced passed pawns and bishop pair seem better than the queen.

Sneaky: At second glance, after the queen "sacfrice" above, Black is totally won! Because White has no way to defend his rook and defend against Ra1+

Interesting that White should have what appears to be a winning resource, but actually is an illusion.

Jan-03-10  falso contacto: I would hire Yusupov as a trainer.

Plaskett: He IS a trainer, these days!
