Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-01-04  Leviathan: I am pleased to see the "boring" Giuoco Pianissimo (with 5.d3 instead of 5.d4) played by such a great player in such a nice game.

28.Rae1! is undoubtedly the winning move.

Sep-26-05  RookFile: What happens after 28... Nh3+
29. Kh2 Nxf2

If white does nothing, black plays
.... Ng4+ and Ne5.

fredthebear: Perhaps Black playing giveaway in the later stages are the losing moves. White had easy, obvious replies that were sound. Then the passers become decisive with each additional trade.
Jan-07-17  crwynn: I wonder, though, about sacrificing Exchange & pawn just a bit differently: 30...Qh7 31.Bxf6+ Rxf6 32.Qxf6+ Qg7 so now it is a booc position where if White keeps queens he has to guard c3 & (especially) f2 & has trouble placing his king properly (White's king on g1 gives g3 to Black's queen). Black, on the other hand, is terrified of Pe7, Re4, Bc2 at some point, and all sorts of queen manuevers. I certainly like White but I don't see how it loses in ten moves.

Meanwhile the ending looks unpleasant for Black but drawish.
