Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-07-05  Whitehat1963: Excellent and brave game from the player of the day!
Apr-30-15  zydeco: This is a really weird game.

I like 17...0-0 better than 17....Kd8. (If 18.Bd3 Qe8 and I don't see any bright ideas for white to crash through on the kingside.)

The point of 13....Qc8 (which looks bizarre at first) is to answer 14.Rxh7 Rxh7 15.Qxg6+ with 15....Kf8 16.Qxh7 Qxe6+. So O'Kelly spends two tempi on a deeply strange suicide mission, bringing his rook to e3 where it gets forked, but in exchange black is compelled to trade off one of his best defensive pieces - the knight on c6.

Jan-31-17  ToTheDeath: Very original and inspired play.
Sep-02-17  sneaky pete: After 17... O-O 18.Bd3 Qe8 is 19.Rxh7 .. bright enough?
