Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-15-12  Interbond: It's very rare to see such a cramped position after only 13. moves.
Mar-16-12  Shams: Hodgson's shortest loss in the database, with the exception of this ostrich egg he laid in a simul three years later: J M Hodgson vs D Turner, 1997
Nov-30-22  Granny O Doul: I heard about this 5. Ng5 move (and on ...h6, 6.e4) around 1990, and I think it was credited to Karl Burger. It highlights the shady side of the Shirazi-Indian. In a playoff rapidish game to decide the Manhattan Chess Club championship one year, Vitaly Zaltsman played the move against Shirazi himself, but after 5...g6 6. e4 Bg4, unaccountably played 7. Be2, and went on to lose. Shirazi was in any case the favorite at that fast control (something like g/25, I think), but come on, Be2?!.
