Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-29-02  ughaibu: Zoltan Varga meets Super Girl. Why did he resign? Presumably because she'd take the rook.
Dec-29-02  pawntificator: It looks like it would be worth playing out though. 26...Qxd6 27 Qxd6 exd5 28 Qe5+ Kf8 29 Qh8+ Rg8 30 Qxh6+ Ke7 and it would still be a good struggle.
Dec-29-02  ughaibu: Pawntificator: it's true isn't it, he would get the bishop as well. Mysterious.
Dec-31-02  pawntificator: Maybe we are missing something.
Jul-29-03  panandh: The possible continuation could be 1. ... Qxd6 2. Qxd6 (other continuations are also looses material) 2. ... exd5

For white's single queen, black has 2 rooks and a bishop. Also white's queen is attacked. It is not easy for white to overcome the problems.

Jul-27-04  OneArmedScissor: Panandh is right.
1. ...Qxd6
2. Qxd6 exd5 (now the rook at g6 is attacking the queen) 3. Qxd5 Rd8 (protecting the bishop)
4. Qxb7 Bxg4 (rook cuts off escape route for the king)

2 rooks and 1 bishop vs. 1 queen

Apr-06-11  Widsith: Yes, but after

26. ... Qxd6
27. Qxd6 exd6

White can play

28. Qe5+ Kf8
29. Qh8+ Rg8
30. Qxh6+ Rg7
31. Kxd1

and White seems to have plenty of chances.
