offramp: Konstantinopolsky, the only chess player mentioned in Disney's <Pinocchio>, plays 20.Bc1-b2.

Simagin, the only chess player sung about by John Lennon, cannot resist the massive <KNIGHT FORK> on d2! Who could? DANGER!! DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!! <Lost in Space>. 21.Qc3 is also a fork!

It is also a pin: it pins the Rd4 against the square g7.

So black plays 21...e5. This protects the rook on d4 and blocks the a1-h8 diagonal.

It is worth mentioning that the white bishop on d3 is en prise.

White now plays the simple 22.Qxd2. But would 22.Bxf5 have been better?

It gets rid of that pesky d3 bishop which was under attack...

Play might go on 22...Nxf1 23.Bd3 and I think the knight is trapped.

Good question!

I'd suggest the game ended thuslywise:

25...f6

and now 26. Rfe1 Re8 27. Qxf6 Qxf6 28. Bxf6 Rxa3 1/2-1/2
