Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-27-06  Resignation Trap: The lines with 6...Nc6 were comparatively new at this time, and not well studied.

If White wanted to get any advantage, he should have tried 8.d5 (instead of 8.dxe5).

Jun-23-13  zydeco: I'm surprised by 16.a4 instead of, say, 16.Na4.

I spent a while looking at what happens if white plays for a win at move 29. Some nice lines although none of it seems to work for white. 29.Nf6 Bc2 30.Nxh7+ Ke8 31.Nf6+ Kf8 (better than Ke7) 32.Rc1 Bxb3 33.Rb1 Bxc4 (Bxa4 might be even better) 34.Rxb7 Bxf4 35.Bc5+ Bd6 and the very pretty 36.Rb8 fails to 36....Bxc5 (or Ke7) 37.Rxd8+ Ke7 38.Rc8 Bxe3+ 39.Kg2 Kxf6 40.Rxc6+ Be6

White could keep playing with 29.Rd2 and after, say, 29.....h5 30.Nf6 Bf5 31.Kg2 b6 32.e4 white is gaining ground but his position's a little loose and black has the two bishops.

May-14-16  ozmikey: <zydeco> In your first line above, 35. Rd7! looks better - in fact I think Black has to give up a piece for a couple of pawns after 35...Rxd7 36. Nxd7+ and 37. Nb6.
