Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-08-15  A.T PhoneHome: After Spassky moves to g5, he has Rbh7 I guess. Rook binds are just crushing!
May-05-18  tigreton: What a game! Spassky at his best, showing both strategic and tactic skills. 25. Ne2! transfers the knight to c3, from where it will firmly blockade both weak pawns on d6 and c4, letting free the pressure of the major pieces along the d-file. 53. g6! and 54. Nxf6! decide through the opening of the seventh rank for the powerful rooks, mating the black king.
Apr-15-24  drantos: In "Dynamic Chess Strategy" (Page 16) Mihai Suba cites this game but with an improved placement of pieces for White and Black with White played Ne2. In his version White has rooks doubled on d1 and d2 and his queen on f2. Black's rooks are on a8 and f8 in his version. Then Ne2! is a winning move.
