After <25...Nb6> 26.g4 Rg8 27.R1e6+ Kg5 <28.f6!> <DanRoss53>'s move is winning, with the only alternative defence <28...Rf8> 29.Rg7+ Kf4 30.f7 Bd5, not appearing to hold. So, going back to try to find an improvement, what about: <25...Nb6> 26.g4 <Bd5> to cover the critical white squares <e6> and <f7>? |

| Jun-21-05 | | Shams: <Chessical> let me say that you were right and I was wrong, earlier; the 29.Rg6 Rd8? 30.Rh7 line I gave is not nearly as strong as I thought. white is a couple tempi too slow. you had the better of things until Mr. Ross showed up. <25...Nb6 26.g4 Bd5> maybe here the white king can hop to f4 on the dark squares -- 27.Kf2 Rg8 28.Kg3 h5 29.h3 and then Kf4. White's pawn pair are not so mobile yet but black's pieces are also tied down. After the d-pawn falls black will have a most trying defense. If 29...hg 30.hg Rg5 31.Kf4 white threatens Re6+, etc. |
