  Dionysius1: Doesn't 32. f5 win a piece?
Jun-25-21  0ZeR0: <Dionysius1>

It appears you are correct. White?s position looks virtually winning afterward. I?m surprised a player of Speelman?s caliber missed this.

Jun-25-21  Murky: After 32. f5 Kf6 attacking the white rook. Where is this win of a piece?
Jun-26-21  0ZeR0: <Murky>
Ah! You're right, nice catch. I saw that the d6 square was a no go and initially neglected the f6 square.

But after looking at it some more I thought after 32.f5 Kf6 33.fxe6 Kxe5 than there was 34.Rd7 but unfortunately black can just trade rooks and then calmly play Rh8.

But even still I'm not convinced it's so easily winning for black as both his a and b pawns will fall with Bxb7 after the sequence mentioned above.

Dionysius1: Thanks <Murky>, darn it :-). I really like the idea <0ZeR0>. I too was working on the pawn going on an unstoppable run, but nope.
