  Mateo: The young Svidler, like Fischer before, plays a model game showing the danger with Black of such Caro-Kann structure, where Black is almost a pawn down. It all looks simple, direct and effective. Kmoch would enjoy such a game.

1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nd2 dxe4 4.Nxe4 Nf6 5.Nxf6+ exf6 6.c3 Bf5 7.Qf3 <7.Ne2; 7.Bd3> Qd7 <7... Bg6> 8.Ne2 Be7 9.Ng3 Bg4 10.Qd3 Be6 11.Nh5 g6? <Cannot be good. Black loses the right to castle and the Bishop pair> 12.Ng7+ Kd8 13.Be3?! <Better seems 13.Ne6> f5? <Black missed his chance. Better should be 13...Bd5> 14.Nxe6+ Qxe6 15.d5! Qxd5 <15...cd 16.0-0-0> 16.Qxd5+ cxd5 17.O-O-O Kc7 18.Rxd5 <the Bishop pair and the Queen side majority give Svidler a winning game.
