Mar-16-03  ughaibu: JGD: The Sicilian is a fighting defense but the fact is that the majority of short decided games are won by white, black wins the majority of long decided games. Tal is known mainly for positional sacrifices and imaginative attacks but he was world champion so of course he was also an excellent defender and endgame player. This game has something of everything.
Aug-22-03  Shadout Mapes: An excellent endgame. Normally, with pawns on both sides of the board, the side with the bishop wins, but Tal exploits white's horrible kingside pawn structure for the win.
Nov-24-14  tranquilsimplicity: The "other side" (positional mastery) of Tal.#

nizmo11: Vasiukov would have avoided the bad endgame if he had found the saving resource at move 39.

39. Qc2!! after which Black must take perpetual with Rxg3 (This means that 36...Rxc3 was inaccurate.)
