Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-27-05  TedBundy: Is this Oll the poor guy who killed himself by leaping out his apartment window several years back? His style in this game seems similar to Tal's in this game.
Jan-27-05  TheSlid: Yep, Ted and there is a link on Oll's page.
May-18-05  woodenbishop: This game was played the same year Tal died... thankfully, he left us with a collection of some of the most spectacular games ever played. Mikhail Tal will never be reproduced by any other player.
Jan-20-12  drukenknight: I know it's a difficult end game for white, but after 41 ...c2 42 Kf2 is there a convincing continuation?
May-13-12  lopezexchange: It is true, woondenknight, there will not be any other top player with the style of Tal. Defense has just improved too much and it is impossible to play in Tal style these days. In fact, since the 70s Tal also changed his style and played less romantic/flashy. Only if a player towers 300-400 elo points above his rivals would we see again a player at the top playing in the Tal style pre-70s. How else can one play, say a rock down in a virtually equal position and turn it into a spectacular win??
Jul-25-13  EvilTwin: Lembit Oll jumped out a window after his wife divorced him
