My guess is he lost on time.

IM Ligterink finished last with 0/5 among 5 GMs.

Oct-30-14  diagonal: Loss on time, last round game. Unlucky Gert Ligterink as mentioned suffering a clean wash out: zero points out of five games.

In <1987>, Ter Apel celebrated their club’s 50 years jubilee by organizing the second Cloister international tournament:

Ree (first on tie-break), Van der Wiel, and Lobron won above Miles and Smejkal.

Hans Ree won this event already at its inaugural edition in <1966> at the occasion of 500 years Cloister in Ter Apel.
