plang: 14..h6 looks suspicious weakening the light squares around the king. 16..Nxd4? 17 Nxd4..Qh4 18 h3..Nxf2 19 Rxf2..Rxf2 20 Nh1! is considered to be good for White. 17 Qc2 had been played in the draw Tseshkovsky-Chernin 1987 USSR Ch; 17 Bc3 was new. Perhaps 18..g6 would have been a bit more solid though after 19 Rce1 White would have had a clear advantage. Perhaps 23..gxh would have been a better defense. 26..Qb4 looks like another improvement. 39..e3 40 Qc7! would have been winning for White.
