An Englishman: Good Evening: Another fun excursion with the Max Lange, the opening which has always baffled me the most. Does White play the Max Lange vs. Black, does Black play the Max Lange vs. White, or does each competitor play it against the other?

J C Moore vs M J Read, 1981 varied with 23...Qd6.

HeMateMe: What a headache it is when someone plays this against you in blitz.

NM JRousselle: Up until Black's move 23, I believe this was all book. According to the "fish" 23... Nh6 is an error.
Jan-22-21  Honey Blend: Black should have at least tried 31. ... ♖xf5+ hoping to bait White into playing 32. gxf5? ♕f3+ 33. ♔h6 ♕h3+ etc, drawing by perpetual check.
Jan-22-21  newzild: <Honey Blend>: Good point!
