Apr-02-19  The17thPawn: Pun is incomprehensible to me. Anyone else have an idea?
Apr-02-19  AlicesKnight: Fried liver failed to bring home the bacon.....
Apr-02-19  mrknightly: <The17thPawn> A lollipop is a type of sugar candy usually consisting of hard candy mounted on a stick and intended for sucking or licking. There was also a R&R song entitled, "Lollipop." I suppose the pun means that the opening, the Lolli Attack, was "popped," i.e. busted.

Apr-02-19  ChessHigherCat: It's the Lolli attack and it didn't work (popped).

But, apart from that, it's a good ship, Lollipop! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLL...

Breunor: Lolly attack is d4 on the 6th move in this line. White had a good opening, he lost it in the middle game.

<ChessHigherCat> It's hard to compare with Shirley Temple, though!

Honza Cervenka: 15.Rf1 would have been better. Of course, 16.cxd4 was necessary.
Apr-02-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: Neither side played a lick of defense.
