tpstar: How did we live without the OE!! I am truly astounded to discover that given Black's candidates at Move 6 in this straightforward dry GP, the best choice based on percentage = 6 ... a6. Presumably if White builds the classic Pawn center at e4 & d4, Black can pressure it from the sides with the Knights along with ... Ba7 & ... Bg4. Instead of 11. e5?! losing a Pawn, perhaps 11. Be2 d5 12. e5 Ne4, or 11. d5 Ne5 12. Bxa7 Rxa7 13. Be2.

hyperion_62-tpstar0 (Yahoo 5/15/04): 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. d3 Bc5 5. 0-0 d6 6. c3 Bg4 (6 ... a6) 7. Nbd2 0-0 8. h3 Bh5 9. a3 a6 (alright!) 10. Re1 h6 11. Qc2 Qd7 12. Nf1? Bxf3 13. gxf3 Qxh3 14. Nh2? Qg3+ 15. Kh1 Bxf2 16. Rf1 Ba7 17. d4 (17. Bxh6! Qh3 18. Bd2 Nh5 19. Bd1) ed 18. Be2? dc 0-1.
