Jul-27-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: This were the times when Magnus Carlsen haven't found his 20-ply thinking yet. Moen uses - shall i say - quite 'primitive' tactics against him to win the game.
Mar-13-08  Udit Narayan: Troll Masters??? Interesting.
Jun-21-09  DarthStapler: I think it's a competition to see who can be the most annoying on the internet
Dec-06-11  Jason Frost: Wow, so rare to see Carlsen outplayed in an endgame. Looks like he missed 25. f4, which should be an easy draw.
Dec-07-11  King Death: <Jason Frost> At the beginning of 2001, Carlsen was barely 10. There were bound to be some chinks in the armor.

  profK: I would be proud of this Petroff if I'd been Black, even if it was only for posterity.
Dec-07-11  Jason Frost: <King Death> True, but still rare to see given how quickly he became a gm and brilliant endgame player.
Dec-08-11  King Death: <Jason Frost> For someone his age, Carlsen's virtuosity in the endgame is marvelous.

  blazerdoodle: <'primitive' tactics> Those ten year olds can be so cruel.
Mar-18-16  Sergash: <12...cxd6?! 13.Re1N> A bizarre move... 12...Qxd6 13.Re1 Bh5 14.Bc2 Rfe8 15.Qd3 Bg6 16.Qd2 Bxc2 17.Qxc2 = Peter Leko (2730) - Leinier Dominguez Perez (2754), SportAccord Blitz (Men) 2013, round 30, draw.

<14.Bc2?!> 14.Be2! according to Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

<14...Ne5?!> Moen missed 14...Bxf3! 15.Qxf3! (when castling position gets depleted, it is better to remove the queens from the board!) Qxf3 16.gxf3 Na5! = / Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

<15.Bb3?! Nc4! => 15.Qd3! g6 (15...Qg6 16.Nd2 Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt) 16.Nd2 Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

<17...b5> There was 17...Bxf3! 18.Qxf3 Qxf3 19.gxf3 Rfe8 = / Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

<21.Kf1?!> 21.Rxe8+! Rxe8 22.a4! Rb8! 23.axb5 Rxb5 24.Rxa7 (or 24.Ra6 d5 25.Rxa7 g6 = Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt) g6 25.Ra2 = Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

<21...g5?!> 21...Rxe1+ 22.Rze1 Kf8 Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

<23.Re1?? Rxe1! 24.Kxe1 Kg7 (only move) > Carlsen apparently thought that exchanging the last piece would bring him closer to a draw... 23.a4! Rb8 24.f4 g4 25.axb5 Rxb5 26.Ra2 = Stockfish 7 - 64 bits Popcnt.

Mar-11-22  12Knaves: Still confused about what Carlsen saw in 15. Bb3. I would've thought the whole point of Bc2 was to play Qd3, to unpin the knight with tempo. The position would've been much less complicated and play can go on.
