Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-24-06  Halfmatje: Why 4. Nf3?
4. dxe5 wins a piece?!
because 4.dxe5 Bxe5 5. f4!
Or am I missing something?
Mar-28-07  Bingat29: After 5. f4. Black counters Nxe5 followed by Qh4+. Two pawns and an attack for a piece is not bad enough. Hence Nf3 is necessary to prevent Qa4+
Mar-28-07  urusov: Bingat29 -- look a little further (typical Quiescence Error, as Dan Heisman calls it). White still wins after ...Nxe5 due to Qh5! preventing Qh4+ and threatening mate. There are other ways as well. Halfmatje is right -- though few have noticed this previously.
