Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-14-04  ConLaMismaMano: 18.f4! Subtle move; Since Lesiege didn't castle, Nakamura decided to open the "e" file and throw a direct attack to the enemy King.

24.Rxe5+! Great move too.

Dec-08-04  iron maiden: Probably Nakamura's most attractive game so far.
Apr-12-08  ToTheDeath: Really powerful king hunt. It was all sound and virtually all forced.
Apr-12-08  Granny O Doul: It doesn't matter, but...I like 33 Nf3 instead, idea Rg3+
Apr-12-08  ToTheDeath: 33.Nf3? Qe2! when there is no mate and 34. Rg3+ simply fails to fxg3 CHECK.
Apr-13-08  Granny O Doul: Pretty sneaky, sis.
Jul-02-09  WhiteRook48: 34...f3+ 35 Kb1 f2 36 Qg2+
Oct-12-23  goodevans: 18.f4! was indeed a very fine move and declining the sac with 18...Bf6 might have been a wiser choice.

Nakamura was 14 when this game was played and had a year earlier become the youngest IM to date. His opponent, GM Le Siège, was a seasoned pro with several titles to his name so this was a nice scalp for the young Naka.

Oct-12-23  joe1137: Not to quibble, but a king hunt out in open territory is not a "seige" in any military sense. Its almost the opposite of a siege.

Nice game from young Nak, though.

Oct-12-23  joe1137: I should learn how to spell "siege", too.
