Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-04-03  ChessPraxis: White plays 10. Bxf7+ in order to gain control of the g6 square (take it away from the Black Queen as a retreat square).

10 ... Kxf7 would lose the Queen to 11. Ne5+. The actual trap of the Queen is a little less obvious (and wins less material).

Mar-05-03  drunknight II: why is black giving up here? why not QxR followed by KxB and material is all even.
Mar-24-03  crafty: 11. ... ♕xh4 12. ♘xh4 ♔xf7 13. ♕h5+ ♔f8 14. ♘g6+   (eval 2.81; depth 12 ply; 100M nodes)
Jul-08-03  wunmu: Black is way behind in development and White's attack will come quickly.
Jul-09-03  dalilama: not to mention...well as crafty put it...black's queen is trapped
Jan-21-05  Granite: Black's behind in development, his king is loose whites center is strong, and white has a queen to black's two pieces, I'm thinking superior matieral or mate will show themselves quickly. If blacks pieces were developed and coordinated he might have a chance, but in a position like this it's time to resign.
Feb-18-05  InspiredByMorphy: 4. ...Bc5 is a bad move. 7.g3 is a great move.
Nov-27-05  DeepBlade: I like 10.Bxf7+, but ive never had the chance to pull it off against someone.
Nov-27-05  alicefujimori: <DeepBlade>That's because you're not playing against an NN...lol
Nov-28-05  DeepBlade: True, the people I play are at least(ELO) 1300, most of the are 1500/1700, highest ever beaten is 1800.
Apr-17-06  SJP: <drunknightII>
It is said that Greco's games were composed by him and not actually played. They were to demonstrate opening traps and the like which he had thought up.
Sep-23-07  wolfmaster: <SJP> If that was the case, Greco had a lot of opening trap ideas in 1620.
Jan-11-09  WhiteRook48: 4...Bc5 threatens a mate in 1, but it might have been an overplay. I played this against a computer, instead of 4...Bc5, it played 4...a5? and I got really confused and started losing. Oh well.
