Mar-13-09  jon01: An unnoticed masterpiece by Igor Kurnosov. White gets a huge attack with 15. Nf4!!
Aug-15-09  Gambitor: Wow, very impressive, a really Rybka-like game by Kurnosov!

An Englishman: Good Evening: 15.Nf4 is definitely one of those stare-in-total-disbelief-at-the-board sort of moves.
Aug-15-09  whiteshark: <Login Problems> :D
Aug-15-09  Aspirador: <Wow, very impressive, a really Rybka-like game by Kurnosov!>

<Login Problems>

Hmmm....

Aug-15-09  whiteshark: Rybka in 2002? Kurnosov surely could combine many moves ahead w/o assistance.
Aug-15-09  vulcan20: Nf4 is the stroke of a genius. I especially liked the patient move 19. Rxd2!
Aug-15-09  felixd: Very nice game by Igor Kurnosov! I liked the attack :D

Annie K.: I submitted "Login Problem" for this game, but I suppose the plural is correct too. ;)
Aug-15-09  birthtimes: Black's failure to complete his development by leaving his light-squared bishop on the back rank, thereby obstructing his a8 Rook, and thus playing in effect a rook down, and his failure to play 15...f5, led to the sparkling combination by White.
Aug-15-09  kevin86: This game looks like a cartoon-
Aug-15-09  Gregor Samsa Mendel: 17 Ncd5! impressed me. Black cannot play ...Qa5 because of Ne7#.
Aug-15-09  hedgeh0g: Forget logging off; I bet Loginov wanted to yank the cord out after this!
Aug-15-09  obender71: I have to kibitz to take record of this game. Sry, nothing useful to say other that this is one is a very remarkable combination.
Aug-15-09  WhiteRook48: forced to give the queen back
Aug-15-09  tentsewang: I don't like black's move on 18. ..e6, instead he/she should move queen on 18. ..Qd7 and black wins with preventive the checkmate.
Aug-15-09  ewenardus: <tentsewang: I don't like black's move on 18. ..e6, instead he/she should move queen on 18. ..Qd7 and black wins with preventive the checkmate.>

If 18... Qd7 then 19.Nf6+ and white wins the black queen with discovered check nect move.

Aug-15-09  YoungEd: Very nice game! Since White's 15. ♘f4 looks to be a winning shot, what should Black have tried instead on move 14? Maybe just 14. ...♗e6 to connect the rooks and blunt the e-file? Anyone have any ideas?
Aug-15-09  YetAnotherAmateur: Give credit also to the lovely combination starting with 19. Ncd5. It's absolutely correct play, since the queen is a goner - if it leaves the 7th rank it allows Ne7#, if it doesn't then it either gets taken immediately on c7 or e7, or is grabbed via Nf6+.
Aug-29-09  birthtimes: 14...Ne6 would win Black the bishop pair if White plays 15. Nf4.
Aug-29-09  birthtimes: 11...Nb6 clears a path for the light-squared bishop to come out and play...
