Aug-19-06  KingG: The pawn sacrifice 17...d4! was a nice move to create a massive attack against the White king.

  plang: 10 e5 was suggested as an improvement as after 10..Ne8 11 Be3..Qc7 12 Bf4 White's position looks preferable. 13 Bc3 was a new move; 13 Be3 had been played previously. A cute variation would have been 15 Nd4..Nxd4 16 Bxd4..Bc5 17 Qe3?..Bxd4 18 Qxd4..Rxc2+!. 20 Qe5 wouldn't have worked due to 20..Nb3+ 21 cxb..Rxc3+ 22 Qxc3..Bg5+ 23 Kc2..Qxf2+. Neither would 21 Qe5..Bf6! 22 Qxf6..Rxc2+ have helped White. 29 f4..Bxf4 30 Qxf4..Qxd3+ 31 Kc1..Qc3+ 32 Kd1..Bb3+ would also have been winning for Black.

Voted the 2nd best game of Informant 85. This is certainly one of Polgar's best games.

A wonderful game ad a whole new meaning to the term: 'The Double Bishop Sacrifice.'

Black offers the DS Bishop on move 28. The LS Bishop on move 29.

in the final position...

...both Black Bishop are hanging. Neither can be taken without the White Bishop and Rook going with a check.
