Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-04-02  bishop: Moving a Pawn in front of your castled position needs to be timed correctly. This move often is necessary to prevent your king from being mated on the back rank. If it is made to early, however, it usually weakens the castled position and leads to trouble. This game is a case in point.
Nov-04-02  Danilomagalhaes: Seing this game, I remembered: The chess, these days, is very easy to be studied, and it is so evoluted that we rarely see a game of grand masters of today that finishes with a checkmate, only with a big mistake of one of the players. The players are so prevented and are so equal playing chess that it usually finishes with a draw or one of the players aborting. The olympiad games are an example of it. Every games I saw until now were draws or like this game.
Nov-05-02  bishop: I dont understand what you are trying to say, try again.
Nov-05-02  Danilomagalhaes: I´m saying that the chess players are so good today that they are prevented from a checkmate, what finishes with one of the players aborting the game after a mistake, and they are also prevented from a good plan, what finishes in draw. Understood now?? Ah, and sorry for the horrible words I choose to write...

Sneaky: I'm not sure what you mean by "prevented" but I know what you are saying. Players rarely get checkmated anymore. In fact it is an embarassment to get your king mated, it implies that you didn't see it coming. When you resign you don't get any points but you save a little bit of dignity.
