tpstar: <saad> The Qb2 is defending the Bf6. After 19. Rc2, Black's Queen must leave the diagonal (19 ... Qa3 or 19 ... Qb3), then White wins a piece (20. Nxf6+ & 21. Nd5). Otherwise 19 ... Qxc2?! 20. Qxc2 and White wins Queen for Rook. Either way, White will have a decisive material advantage and eventually win the game.

WannaBe: It's over, because Queen has to move.
And it will not be able to defend the bishop on f6. White gets a piece for free (Nxf6+).

And please be patient. It takes time for people to respond.

Aug-17-05  jumperino: Why can't queen go to d4 to defend?

WannaBe: if Qd4, then there are 2 options for white, Ne7+ and if black bishop takes, then black loses the Queen. (or move the king)

or white can play Rd2, then the queen has to move again. (If Qxe4 then it's real disaster.)

Aug-17-05  jumperino: Thanks...I missed Rd2.
