tpstar: Argh - bit by the Halloween Gambit. I can see why it enjoys such great practical success, since White owns the center while Black must thread the needle throughout the middlegame. Fritz prefers 8 ... Qd7, then presumably 10 ... c6 to prevent the Knight from intruding on d5 or b5, but 8 ... f6 worked OK. Fritz had other good ideas too, yet I was on the right track until I missed a consolidating move plus I missed a key check. At least I made him work for it. =)

May-19-06  bane77: 15.f5 and white gets piece back. Why did he resign? It's far from over.
May-19-06  pawn to QB4: Agreed. I was going to post 15.f5 Nf4 16.Bxf4 Qxb2 wins back the piece and justifies resignation, but after 17.Kd2 it doesn't. The game's just starting. Maybe White was thinking as I was.
May-19-06  Assassinater: It's an e-mail site, so probably some analysis at home convinced white that it was hopeless.
