Benzol: I would imagine that if 16...♕e7 then 17.♗e8 is lethal. Is is really our own Honza? If so, good game mate.
Dec-30-03  Lawrence: Yes, this is Honza. Well done! Black can last a few extra moves by playing 16.....Qb6+ and then losing his Queen, but what's the point? Benzol, your idea of 17.Be8 is correct (Junior 8), mate in 5.

Benzol: <Lawrence> I was only looking at 17...♕xe8; 18.♕g5#. With the ♗ on e8 the f pawn has only two defenders against three attackers. Can you show me the mate in five please.
Dec-30-03  mdorothy: After 16...♕e7 17.♗e8 ♕c5+ 18.♔h1 ♕g1+ 19.♖xg1 And any move is followed by mate.

Benzol: <mdorothy> Thank you. I thought there might be an almost saving variation if it was five moves.
Jan-07-04  Marnoff Mirlony: Nice game by Honza. Nice little Rook Sacrifice in the end.
Jan-07-04  AdrianP: From Games Like Jan Cervenka vs Z Mladek, 1994

it looks like 7... dxe5? is a mistake...? whereas 7... Nfd7 or 7. ...Nh5 are playable.

Jul-23-04  Chesspatch: if 12. ... Qxd5, then 13. Nf5 right? How did you see such a move?? Darn.
Nov-01-04  Theoryhack: Another entry in the big book of pain that Black writes when playing 6...Bg7 against the Levenfish.
Nov-30-07  srinivas6195: i would have played rook f5 instantly without thinking as it weakens black king without calculation any other variation after kg8 rook f5 is a automatic move
May-29-12  JoergWalter: Nice companion to

Nezhmetdinov vs P Ermolin, 1946
