  fredthebear: The logical 12.Kb1 would have kept matters level for White. Instead, he played to successfully trap the Black knight on the queenside, but got his own knight trapped too while it stood on guard duty.

Black exploited the undefended Bb5 and attempts to protect it with a piece, as well as defend the defender (rook). White wasted a lot of time covering the loose Bb5, which eventually got plucked by the other Black knight, without having served a purpose. The invading Black knights proved to be an exercise in frustration for White, who surely regrets lifting the rook to the 5th so early.
