25... O-O looks safer for Black but still good for White.
One deficiency of puzzles is not knowing the right to castle for either side without peeking at the game with a viewer...

| May-31-15 | | patzer2: One surprising aspect of today's Sunday puzzle solution 25. Rxc8+! is it's a follow-up to a combination begin with the strong move 21. Bb5!, which first appeared here (21. ?) as a Friday (i.e. June 17, 2011) puzzle. As a general rule, the initial moves in a long combination are more difficult to find than the later follow-up moves. Does this mean today's Sunday puzzle (25. ?) solution is less difficult than the Friday puzzle (21. ?) combination setting it up four years ago? If it's a trend, maybe I've got a shot at solving a few more weekend puzzles this year. P.S.: Black's best chance at improvement in this game appears to be the missed opportunity 11...h5! when play might continue 12. Nf1 Qc7 13. Qd2 Nf8!  (-0.70 @ 26 depth, Deep Fritz 14x64). |

| May-31-15 | | houtenton: Again: when you know there must be a winning line, the two basic moves Rxc6 and Qd5 "must be the solution", even more by absence of other acceptable moves. At least that is how I "solve" them most of the time. So I found the first two moves easely based on the priciple above. OK, I sometimes also miss the easy problem of tuesday too. Then I thought 27.c6 will win quickly, and that finish my work for today (to early maybe). |

For instance, 25.Qxb4 "should win" too, and if 25...fxe3 then 26.Qxh4 threatening mate at e7, etc. However if black side can do ...0-0! my variation doesn't work. At first glance I didn't like 25.Rxc8+! since the black bishop on 'c8' is pinned. |
