Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-29-09  KingG: Nice finish.
Nov-26-18  shallowred: And that finish is:
59... RxR
60. f7+ Kf8
70. Kf6!
Nov-26-18  JimNorCal: Note:
After
Kf6 Rg6+
Kxg6 g2??
Because Kf6, g1(Q), e7 mate
Therefore Kf6, Rg6+ KxR Ke7 forced and white queens first.

Pretty finish!

Nov-27-18  MelvinDoucet: GOTD material.
Nov-27-18  shallowred: Of course I meant to write:
61. Kf6! (not 70. Kf6!).

I used up all of my brain-power trying to figure out how White wins after 61. pxg8 (he can't), and I blundered the post.

Nov-27-18  JimNorCal: Not to worry, <shallow>, Kf6 is a terrific find. I spent a lot of time puzzling over pxg8 too.

I also was perplexed for a while about Kf6 Rg6+; Kxg6 g2 until I finally saw that Kf6 re-established the mate threat.
