May-22-10  ToTheDeath: LOL u gotta love Richter. What a maniac.
Jan-17-17  clement41: In this bloody game, the diagram that arises after Black's 24th move makes for a very good defense exercise. White seems lost, faced with strong mating threats.

How can he save the game? (and actually get an easy win). This exercise is made much easier than in an OTB situation because from the game score you KNOW there is something to find.

It is a critical moment at which the situation is super tense, as summarized by the computer eval.: the best move for white is an only move, giving white a +7 or so edge. The second best yields -9 while the third -and thus all the remaining moves- allow Black to mate!

25? White to parry black's threats and subsequently win.

White's material advantage is huge, but his pieces are clumsy and unharmonious unlike Black's. For example if the knight moves to e4 to prevent ...Qf2+, then the mate occurs on f1.
