Kibitzer's Corner
May-20-07  chad47474: why not 13. Nxe4 ?
May-20-07  Gilmoy: Maybe 13 Nxe4 Bxd4 14 Bxd4 Nxd4 15 Qxd4 Bxf5 and Black has 2 pawns in a central wall for the piece: e5, d5-d4, etc. White's remaining B is the wrong color to control the passed e-pawn's queening square. Perhaps Black knew White preferred to play for his own attack rather than defend that kind of position -- not only does White decline the N, he even sacs a Rook.

This is the only Sicilian Dragon they played with Kan as Black (among the 11 games in chessgames.com's database).

May-21-07  Aspirador: 13.Nxe4 Qe5 wins back a piece.
