Chessical: Vaganian takes advantage of a careless move by Ponomariov: <21...Rf8>; playing <f4> would have kept Ponomariov in the game, with an inspired sacrifice of the exchange.

<24...Kh6> is no better for Ponomariov, 25.Nc5 Bf5 26.dxe7 Rf7 27.Be3+ Kh5 28.Rf1 Re8 29.Nxb7 Rexe7 30.Nd6 Rxe3 31.Kxe3 Re7+ 32.Kd4

Oct-30-04  notyetagm: Pono sucks, I can't stand how he plays on in <totally lost> positions.
Dec-09-05  Frhddy: That is stupid<notyetagm>... He can always hope that his opponent blunders. Anyway, he was not in the best of form here, having been out of practice for a while. Now he is great again!
