Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-30-05  Granite: Larsen came to fight!
May-31-07  Ulhumbrus: Larsen says at the end ( in his book of his best games) something like " The board is divided as if by a wall, and the White Q is on the wrong side of the wall"
Nov-22-14  tranquilsimplicity: Beautiful game.#
May-03-15  ScottElliott: Some extremely good positional play preceded the sacrfice by Larsen, ..Bxb3 to wreck White's q-side pawn structure and created a black 5-4 pawn majority on the k-side, definitely a case of good judgment in giving up bishop for knight. Then ..Nd7 to get control of the h8-a1 diagonal. Definitely perfect tactics to see that queen would be sacked ending up with rook and bishop in exchange, but not only that but the positional insight to see that this would be more than adequate with White's atrocious pawn structure all over the board. Magnificent blend of sacrifice, tactics, and positional insight.
May-03-15  ScottElliott: Would have never thought the final break through would have come on the king-side. The threat of Black winning the a-pawn and breaking through on the q-side tied down White's pieces to enable the break-through on the h-file. Centrally placed bishop, rooks on the a-file and the h-file. Was a case of 3 major pieces versus 2, not R+R+B vs Q+R. An absolute masterpiece!
