  wwall: 13...exf3 looks wrong. Perhaps best is 13...Qf6 14.Qxe4 (14.fxe4 Qb6+) Kd8.

Or 14.Bg5 Bf6 15.Re1 Kf8 16.Bh6+ Bg7 17.Qd4! Bxh6 18.Qxh8 and 19.Qxd8.

Strong is 15.Bg5, and if 15...Bf6 16.Bh6+ Bg7 17.Qd4! Bxh6 18.Qxh8+ Kf7 19.Qxd8, winning the Queen.

Perhaps best is 15...Qf6. Not 16...Bf6?? 17.Bh6+ Kg8 18.Qd5 mate.

Better may have been 16.Qd5+ Kf8 17.Bg5 Bf6 18.Bh6+ Bg7 19.Rf1+ and White wins.

16...Qf8 loses. Perhaps best is 16...Bd4+ 17.Be3 Bxb2 18.Qd5+ Kg7 19.Rf1 Rf8 (19...Bxa1?? 20.Qf7 mate) 20.Bd4+ Bxd4 21.Qxd4+ Kh6 and Black survives. Not 16...Qxg5?? 17.Re8+ Bf8 18.Qxf8 mate.

After 19.Bh6 Qxd5 20.Rxf8 mate.

Jul-19-07  benba57: 16 Bg5 is a great example of an invincible bishop.
Mar-05-08  wolfmaster: 4.Bxg8 is the novelty.
Jun-27-12  e4 resigns: <4.Bxg8 is the novelty.> M Hewitt vs Steinitz, 1866
It's not the best.
