plang: Sutovsky was sceptical of 10 f3!? although it is almost as popular of 10 f4; this whole line has not scored very well for White. After 18..e3 the e-pawn was a major problem for White; giving up the exchange with 18 fxe was an alternative worth considering. Still with 19 Nb7..Qc7 20 Bxe3..Rfb8 21 c5..Rxb7 22 Rxb7..Qxb7 23 c6..Bxc6 24 dxc..Qxc6 Blacks advantage would have been small; instead after Palac's 19 Bb4? Black was in control. The pretty point to 21..e2! was 22 Rxe2?..Rxe2 23 Qxe2..Qxa5 24 Bxa5..Rxb1+ 25 Be1..Bc3 winning.
