Oct-18-05  THE pawn: Interesting game, in a interesting dutch. The madness starts with the queen exchange followed by a great king march.
Oct-18-05  khense: White seemed to be doing the right thing the whole time (and he won). Once in a while the other side wins (and I realize how little I know).
Oct-18-05  geaux82: Was 18.Bf3 the winning move? Impossible!

WannaBe: "It's League night, Donnie, and your foot was over the line."

I wonder how many got the pun... I know I did. One of my favorite Cohen brother movies!!

Oct-18-05  underrated: this is another example of how the quote is more interesting than the game...one of the all time greatest movies ever!

you know dude, i too once dabbled in pacifism...not in nam of course.

is this your homework? is this your home work larry? your killing your father larry!

Obviously, your not an avid bowler

mind if i do a J?

Oct-18-05  underrated: hey man this is like a private residence...

(it looks like black resgined here because white would have won...)

WannaBe: <underrated> I'm gonna buy you a CAUCASIAN!!! (If I ever get down to SD gaslamp/light district.) Then we'll play few 4/0 blitz!!
Oct-18-05  underrated: would you get off it walter, your not even jewish
Oct-18-05  underrated: <WannaBe>

WannaBe: <underrated> Don't want this to be 2 person conversation on this game...

But John Turturo (Jesus) was GREAT in the movie.

I also love John as Adrian Monk's older brother on MONK.

Oct-18-05  Rowson: well thats just like your opinion man.

Oct-18-05  rya: Phone's ringin dude
Oct-18-05  Bobwhoosta: I think Bf3 had a lot to do with solidifying the center, and was made based on strategic rather than tactical means. However in chess these days strategy is something that can be used as a tactic, as strong players see possibilities they don't like and generally avoid them unless they can find concrete compensation. In this case it was the far advanced passed pawn in the event of the trade for center and wing pawn that sealed black's fate in an already bad position.
Oct-18-05  underrated: <rya> thank you donnie
Oct-18-05  kevin86: The Big Lebowski-I don't know much about it,but I think it was a poor ordinary slob being mistaken for a Mob hit man--and was hunted as such.

Good game-white is about to shove his pawn down black's throat-forcing him to give up a piece or two.

Oct-18-05  chessic eric: Just cause we're bereaved doesn't make us saps!

That is our most modestly priced receptacle.

Is there a Ralph's near here?

WannaBe: apparently more people know of this movie than I expected. =)
Oct-18-05  chessic eric: <We found it lodged against an abuttment on Van Nuys Boulevard.> They took my briefcase!
<Yea, I saw that in the report. They left the Creedence though. You'll have to get in from the passanger side.> Aww...Whats that smell?
<Thats the vagrance. Probably used it as a toilet and moved on.> Do you have any leads? I mean, are you gonna catch these guys? <Leads? Uh, yea. There's a couple guys down in the crime lab. They got us workin' in shifts!>
Oct-18-05  chessic eric: So whats in the carrier, man?

<Cynthia's dog. Its a Pommeranian. She asked me to take care of it while she's on vacation.>

You brought a bleeping Pommeranian bowling?

<What do you mean, "brought it bowling"? I didn't rent it shoes, I didn't buy it a beer, its not taking your bleeping turn, Dude.>

Look, if my bleeping ex-wife asked me to dog-sit while she's on vacation I'd tell her to go bleep herself. Why can't she board it?

<First of all Dude, you don't have an ex. Second, you can't board it, it gets upset. Its a bleeping show dog with bleeping papers. OVER THE LINE!>

Oct-18-05  chessic eric: ok, I'm done now. Check the movie out if you haven't...
Oct-18-05  Abaduba: Back to the game, why 6. ... g8?
Wouldn't Black be better off trading Queens with ...dxe5?
Oct-18-05  EmperorAtahualpa: Nice game, not extrordinary though.

I love the annotation 16.O-O-O+ :)

Oct-18-05  cjrubiks: Can someone tell me why the resignation? After ... Rxd1 Rxd1 Kf5 Black appears to have plenty of Kingside counterplay. The Black King and bishop form an effective blockade, preventing White from dislodging the bishop. c7 is easily answered with ... g3, and White can't queen any faster than black. Seems like a pretty silly time to resign to me.
Oct-18-05  underrated: <cjrubiks> i dont see a win here either, at least not a clear one by any means...unless...no wait that dosnt work either
Oct-18-05  underrated: 33. c6 Rxd1 34. Rxd1 Kf5 35. c7 g3 36. hxg3 hxg3 37. Kc5 (Kxb6 is greedy...) Kxf4 38. Nd5+ Bxd5 39. Kxd5 g2 40. Ke6 Ke3 41. Kxe7 Rh7+ 42. Kd6 Rh1 43. Rxh1 gxh1=Q 44. c8=Q .. leaves whites pawn one square closer but black has the checks...

all other varaitions i played out looked even more drawish
