Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-23-08  wouldpusher: The very sly 25. ♘xa6! and 26. ♘xd5! led to a very interesting ♙♙♙♙ vs ♘ endgame.
May-27-08  lost in space: Can only agree with <wouldpusher>. Do we have any ending-expert, interested in analysing this game?

My suspect is that white is better with 4 pawns versus the knight, but I have no glue, if there are hidden resources for Black.

White chould have advanced his pawns much better with <44.e5 Kf8 45.e6 Nf6 46.d6 Rd4 47.d7 Ke7 48.Re5 >

May-28-08  lost in space: <Whiteshark>: I agree with your analyse, especially with your finding, that 44. e5 is an excellent move. But why have you put a ? behind Black's move 43...Rb4?

I checked 43...Ra2, 43... Nf6 and 43... Ra5, but none of them worked better than 43. Rb4.

Here an example:
43...♖a2 44. h4 ♖b2 45. ♖f5+ ♔e8 46. d6 g6 47. ♖g5 ♔f7 48. ♔f4 ♖d2 49. h5 gxh5 50. ♖xh5

or

43.. ♖a5 44 d6. ♖a7 45. ♔f4 ♖b7 46. h4 ♖b6 47. e5 ♘c5 48. ♔f5 ♖xb5 49. h5 ♘d7 50. f4 ♘f8

It seems, that there are better move for white, but so far there is no significant improvement found for Black

May-29-08  whiteshark: <lost in space> Yes, maybe I've been to quick on the trigger. :D
