Jan-14-07  ToTheDeath: Very original and interesting game. It's filled with neat strategical manuevers and tactical points.
Nov-14-08  KingG: Isn't the position after 56.Ke4 fxg5 just a draw since Black has the opposition?

SwitchingQuylthulg: <KingG> If you mean 56...gxf4, the answer is of course yes; however, many things hint at the game score as given being wrong (unlikeliness of both players overlooking this, the lack of any reason to leave the bishop on f4, and the fact that moving and only then resigning is unusual)...

The usual databases also have this erroneous game score, so I had to go to http://www.idf-echecs.com/ for the original, which conveniently enough stops after 54.Bxf4 1-0. The mysterious last five plies were never played.

Nov-14-08  KingG: <SwitchingQuylthulg> Ok, thanks. It makes sense that Black resigned after 54.Bxf4, although there was still one trap to avoid after 54...Kh5 55.Bxg5?? stalemate!
