Kibitzer's Corner
May-15-14  TheBish: I nominate this for Game of the Day, with the title "Onward Christian Weiss Pawn"! A play on "Onward Christian Soldiers" and the fact that a "weiss" (white) pawn does the real damage here, marching three straight moves, harassing Black's queen for two of those, and later helping to win the queen by supporting a rook fork. Never saw anything like it! What a great imagination, to conceive the idea that a pawn could be so strong in an attack where there is a pending discovered check, just waiting to set up the right one! Ironically, the discovery never occurs, as the king marches into a different tactic, the rook fork.
Mar-13-17  whiteshark: <Onward Christian Weiss Pawn> Dead from the Weisst down.
